Felix Salmonが書いた、NYTの記事よりHaffingtonの記事が読まれているはなぜか、という記事。

これって、池田信夫ブログがあんなに読まれるのに、マクロ経済学のマトモな教科書（齊藤他、ローマー、バロー等）やミクロ経済学のマトモな教科書（八田、林、ヴァリアン等）が全く読まれないというのと同じだよね。正確だけれど小難しい理解の障壁が高い知識より、飲み屋で自慢できるキーワードが散りばめられた正確性の低いコンテンツのほうが大衆には受容されやすいってだけだよね。

結局ネタとしての知識は欲しいけれど、体系的な知識は勘弁、というのがネットの大多数のユーザーの行動なんだよな。というか、人数が多くなればなるほど、そういった平均への回帰が起きるだけで、しょうがないよね。まあ、ネットのユーザのほうがテレビの視聴者より平均的に知識欲があるかもしれないというのも確からしいし。
